a5c7b9f00b In the city of St. Canard, the people are plagued by the most bizarre criminals, but they have a protectorwell, Darkwing Duck. This bumbling and egotistical superhero battles evil in that fair city with the help of his dumb pilot sidekick, Launchpad McQuack and his rambunctious adopted daughter, Gosalyn. A bumbling superhero battles crime with the help of his daughter and pilot sidekick. I wouldn't have been surprised if Paul Verhoeven or Tim Burton directed one or two of the episodes of this show! I can't believe Disney let it through, of all studios!! This is real biting stuff, and it's twisted, demented and weird. I loved it. It was my favourite Saturday morning cartoon and my pickthe best of Disney's animated series'. This was a show like "The Simpsons", where every scene was a rip-off of something. And yet it existed in its own imaginative world, not so over-the-top that it doesn't make some kind-of sense. Darkwing's enormous ego is the best rip-off of superheroes I have ever encountered. And those villains!!!! Batman would have stopped to say: Nice powers. As farTV goes, especially animated TV, this is among the best of it, I think! This show is definitely a flashback to my childhood days of watching the Disney Afternoon after school. Though I haven't gotten to see this show much because it airs after Ducktales and Chip N'Dale, which by that time I had to switch off the TV and go do homework!

But, on the days I'm lucky enough to catch it, I remember it for being a daring and adventurous show with its bumbling superherohe battles crime with his pilot sidekick (Launchpad from Ducktales). Definitely an entertaining cartoon and one of the better ones back in the day!

Grade B
